Hafiz Muhammad Ashar teaches Quran translation at Online Study Quran Academy. His students can usually already read the Quran and now want to understand it.
He does that in two ways. Tafseer lessons go through the meaning of each passage, its context and what it teaches. Arabic lessons build the vocabulary and grammar that let students recognise the words for themselves, so the meaning starts to come through even while they recite.
What Hafiz Muhammad Ashar teaches
- Tafseer of the Quran
The meaning of each passage, its context and its lessons, drawing on classical tafseer such as Ibn Kathir, al-Tabari and al-Qurtubi. - Arabic for the Quran
The Arabic alphabet and writing, core vocabulary, and the foundations of grammar (Nahw and Sarf), so you start recognising Quranic words yourself.
Who these classes suit
- Tafseer of the Quran: students who can read the Quran and now want to understand what they recite.
- Arabic for the Quran: working adults and school-age children alike, each at their own pace.
How a class works
Every lesson is live and one-on-one over video, so it’s only you (or your child) and the teacher. You choose the days and times, and lessons can run from 15 minutes to an hour. Your teacher keeps track of what you’ve covered and what needs more practice, and parents of younger students are welcome to sit in on any class.
