Study the Quran Online, One Student and One Teacher at a Time
Most people who want to learn the Quran don't need another app or another playlist of videos. They need a patient teacher who listens to them read and corrects them on the spot. That's what we do. Every class at Online Study Quran Academy is live and private, taught over video by a Hafiz-e-Quran teacher, so the lesson moves at your speed and not a group's.
Some of our students are small children learning their first Arabic letters. Others are parents, professionals and new Muslims who never had the chance to learn when they were young and want to read the Quran properly now. Our courses are built so both can start exactly where they are and keep going, from Noorani Qaida all the way to Hifz and Tafseer.
Lessons can be as short as 15 minutes or as long as an hour, and you choose the days and times. Whether you live in New York, London, Toronto or Sydney, we'll find a slot that fits around school, work and family.
Online Quran Courses for Every Goal
Every student starts at their own level. Beginners begin with Noorani Qaida, move on to fluent reading and Tajweed, and can go further into memorising the Quran or studying its meaning. Each course page explains what's covered and who it's for.
Noorani Qaida for Beginners
The starting point for complete beginners of any age. You learn every Arabic letter, the short vowels, how letters join into words, and rules like sukoon, shaddah and madd, with correct pronunciation from the first lesson.
See the Noorani Qaida course →Quran Reading (Nazra)
For students who already know their letters and want to read smoothly from the Mushaf. Tajweed is applied as you read, along with where to pause and where to carry on, so the meaning stays intact.
See the Quran reading course →Quran with Tajweed
Makharij, noon and meem sakinah, madd, ghunnah and qalqalah, taught by a teacher who hears each mistake and fixes it straight away. It suits beginners and fluent readers who want to polish their recitation.
See the Tajweed course →Hifz (Memorising the Quran)
Memorise with the Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil method: a new lesson each day, regular revision of recent work, and a rotation through older portions so what you've learned doesn't fade.
See the Hifz program →Tafseer of the Quran
Understand what you recite. Your teacher explains the words, the context and the lessons of each passage, drawing on classical tafseer such as Ibn Kathir, al-Tabari and al-Qurtubi.
See the Tafseer course →Quran Classes for Kids
Short, patient one-on-one lessons covering Qaida, reading, short surahs, du'as and good manners. Parents are welcome to sit in on any class.

Quran Classes for Kids
Children learn best when the teacher is paying attention to them and nobody else. In a group class, quiet kids get quieter and restless kids drift off. In a one-on-one class, the teacher can slow down, repeat a letter five times, or switch to a quick game when attention starts to slip.
Most young children begin with Noorani Qaida and then move on to reading the Quran with Tajweed. Many also memorise short surahs and learn everyday du'as and manners along the way. Lessons fit around school, and you can sit in at any time and get regular updates on how your child is doing.
Hafiz Muhammad Anas Ahmed and Hafiz Muhammad Atif Kamran teach many of our youngest students. Not sure when to start? Our guide on the best age to start Quran classes walks you through it.
Online Quran Classes for Kids →Online Quran Classes for Adults and New Muslims
A lot of adults feel embarrassed about starting from the alphabet at 30, 40 or 60. There's no need to. Classes are private, so it's just you and your teacher, and nobody else hears you stumble over a letter.
You can start from zero with Qaida, move on to fluent reading and Tajweed, add memorisation if you want it, and study Tafseer when you feel ready. Lessons run from 15 to 60 minutes, so they fit around work and family rather than the other way round.
New Muslims are very welcome to start right at the beginning. We go at your pace, and our guide to your first 30 days of Quran classes as a revert explains what to expect. You can also read more about our online Quran classes for adults.

A good Quran teacher listens more than they talk. Most of each lesson is you reading while your teacher follows along, stops you the moment a letter or a rule slips, and has you read it again until it sounds right.
Your teacher also keeps track of where you are, so each class picks up where the last one ended instead of starting over. And they adjust to the person in front of them. A six-year-old needs short bursts and plenty of encouragement, while an adult who has just taken their shahada might want to know why a rule works the way it does. Our teachers are used to both.
